Remember that Nokia's / dealers' prices are different in different parts of the world. As has already been stated by others in several threads, it's not just a simple exchange rate calculation from one area to another.

Plus, it's pre-order from a vendor......NOT written in stone.

Read the small print, they reserve the right to make up the prices as they wish and change them at any point if they use the 'pre-order' moniker. :rolleyes:

Electronics always cost less in the US than they do in Europe on official release, definitely with Nokia handsets eg. the N97 is basically the same price Euro - USD at retail. Mobilecityonline is not the best retailer there are some shady stories about them floating around the internet. They have a store here in Manhattan that I have purchased from before (my N78), they are pretty knowledgeable about the North American high end mobile market so who knows maybe this is true?
