Usable Dictionaries for SDict Viewer?
I have installed SDict viewer and downloaded MW-Collegiate dictionary (15M file) from sdict.com but it's word-list is very limited.
Are the dictionaries at sdict.com demo-versions? any purchase (or DIY) options i'm not aware of? |
RE: Usable Dictionaries for SDict Viewer?
Oops! I was wrong about demo-versions. These are complete (and usable) dictionary bases.
I got alarmed due to N770 keyboard taking the 1st alphabet in upper case, and sdict viewer is case sensitive (i.e. 'Truth' is not 'truth') -- |
About that uppercase starting, is there any way to switch that off?
BTW, sdict.com also sports CIA factbook and loads of other interesting stuff! Thanks for getting me on to this one! ;-) |

Yes u can turn 'auto-capitalize' feature off in Keyboard settings (accessible thru control panel) But no, that setting has no effect on sdict-viewer. -- |
Yeah, found that - and found that it doesn't do any good for sdict.... :-)
Any rc file hacks for this? Guess it's not such a big deal, but hey, it runs Linux so it should bow to my command, no? ;-) edit: BTW am I the only one who cannot manage to download dictionaries from sdict.com with the 770 directly? I manage to get the download started after filling in the kaptcha, but after that it just stalls - tried opera and minimo, neither worked.... |
