Customization: User-friendly?
I know the community has been demanding lately of developers (see the portrait vs. landscape war thread). That's why I'm hesitating asking this, but since I already asked it in another thread (in which it didn't really belong), I'm making a new thread for it.
Customization seems to be an important part of "owning" a phone. Has there been any advances in developing themes, etc? It seems the major obstacles to development of themes was the fact that it was not user-friendly. To create a full theme, you had to put all these commands into linux and pull these sources and templates and whatnot. A dedicated theme editor that's non-developer friendly would go a long way in helping people make themes (I'm sure this would be a lot of work & not a priority, though). Has user-friendly keyboard customization been considered? I don't even know if this is a good idea, but I can see how it would be useful (ex.: I could make all the vowels red, so that I could find them easily or add a background picture/color that "reflects me", etc.) Just throwing that out there as well. I was thinking about it a few days back here (last post). |
Re: Customization: User-friendly?
There is a theme editor which doesn't require any commands, pulling sources, using Linux etc:
http://konttoristhoughts.blogspot.co...-for-n900.html I'm not sure what you were referring to. The reason I've not created a theme is not that I can't do the technical steps (because they're straightforward); it's because I can't draw. |
