An usb DVB receiver has been made to work with the n800 so the power is there. I guess it's up to nokia to provide an application...

The SU-33W is a bit of a different animal (bluetooth and DVB-H). Since it uses a Proprietary DVB-H streaming protocol it's entirely up to Nokia to provide support for it.

Re: N900 and Nokia Mobile TV Receiver SU-33W

DVB-H is a standard (superset of DVB-T). The problem is the BlueTooth protocol on top of L2CAP. That part is proprietary. On a positive note no firmware or driver would be required once that protocol is understood.

But the DVB-H receiver can't receive DVB-T, right?

No. DVB-H is low quality (h for handheld) whereas DVB-T is high quality (t for terrestrial).

They are not compatible with each other, but very much alike. So support for DVB-H is easy to add if your software supports DVB-T. [edit]A DVB-T actually can receive and decode DVB-H[/edit]

It is also possible to convert DVB-T to DVB-H: http://amuse.ftw.at/downloads/dvbh-relay/LIMBOS

It seems AMUSE 2.0 is the DVB-H project for Linux

See: http://amuse.ftw.at/about there are various software utilities too.

Development of a research Testbed for mobile Interactive Television Services. We utilize a low-cost DVB-H radio front-end in conjunction with adapted Open-Source Software Components. In addition, we currently develop a Linux-based DVB-H IP-Encapsulator which was released into open source!
Development of interactive TV & Video terminal middleware for Symbian S60 Smart-Phones and Mobile Linux Terminals (N800, N810).
The software to play a DVB-H stream is there: http://amuse.ftw.at/downloads/aitv-client they talk about a Maemo version but I never heard of such.

Nokia N97 and Nokia 5800 support Nokia SU-33W.

DIB7070-H is supported, see e.g. http://www.eetimes.com/conf/3gsm/sho...100384&kc=6437

Hmm what resolution does the n900 even output anyway? I'm guessing only SD resolutions given the provided cables. Though it's hard to tell from the demo videos.
