rootfs, possible in 2006?
Sorry but i got a little confused about this topic.
I was thinking that we can not yet put / on the mmc with 2006, but sometimes i read about people booting from the mmc-card (and why would they do that if not for the reason they have / on the card?). So what is the status here? Since the mmcv4 patches and having 5MB/s with the mmc it would of course be super-awesome to put / on the card, right? Is it possible yet? Regards, Sascha |

Yep, read also News part here http://fanoush.webpark.cz/maemo/#initfs
Newest bootmenu.sh in garage SVN has timeout (so device will not drain battery in boot menu when device reboots unattended) and can combine ask + root option so you can set root device to ask:mmc2 to have mmc2 preselected but still have the menu on every boot. |
Of course the downside is that you cannot remove the card without rebooting and selecting internal flash in boot menu.
