[Pidgin 2.6.2] : what's new?
 

hi everybody,
I have been looking for the release info for a while, but no body answered to me!
On the web site it's said that the 2.6.2 supports video/audio chating. but under maemo it seem to no be working,
I don't even see any difference between the v2.5.8 and the new v2.6.2
could somebody informe us about the updates in the 2.6.2?

Browse down to your current version (2.5.8) and go up from there to find out what you're missing out on. Actually, I'm also using 2.5.8, so I'm going to do the same.

Hi,
As far as I can tell, Yahoo is working again. (It can at least connect)
It looks like voice and video isn't working yet.

Pidgin 2.6 has also done away with the "Send" button, and the return key big on screen keyboard doesn't the message either, so the only way to send a message on an n800 is to use the stylus keyboard.

Messages seem to take a few seconds to send now, and as wyr said, there is no send button. Anyone know where to get hold of the old version?

send button can be found by going under plugins and scrolling down. put a checkmark next to the right one and presto.

the audio and video only work with gtalk, and specifically the video part needs the latest farlight.

quick guess is that the person doing the packages could not be bottered with wrestling that in there.

it is, its just that to get the gtalk video stuff working one need some extra software thats currently not available on maemo.

i see i accidentally called it farlight earlier, i should correct that to farsight, specifically farsight2.

if anyone feel like trying to get it working, here is the page:

pidgin 2.6.2 doesn't work via usbnet and DUMMY connection
Do anybody also have the same problem?
