N900 Visual Voicemail

Now this would be nice to have, especially considering T-Mobile's network supports such a service.

I mean come on, visual voicemail would just make my anxiety for the N900 even greater than it already is... one can hope!

Google Voice will only be needed. Transcripts FTW!

How does GV affect/interact w/regular GSM so that you can get visual voicemail with GSM calls if GV is software based VOIP?

I set up my GV number as my GSM voicemail number, meaning if someone calls my GSM line, and I don't pick up, it forwards them to my GV number, which will in turn ring my VOIP and any other phones, and if I still don't answer it goes to my GV voicemail.

So my GV replaces the GSM providers voicemail.

To set up conditional forwarding on T-Mobile, in your phone enter:
Code:

*004*yourGVnum#
and then press send, and then any calls which would've gone to your original voicemail will be forwarded to GV instead.

To cancel conditional forwarding on T-Mobile, in your phone enter:
Code:

#004#
and then press send, and then your original voicemail settings are restored.

Is anyone working on a client version of gv that will download the messages to the phone rather than having to pull them down real time?
