[Request] Bring syncevolution to Extras (new version)
 

Syncevolution (which I use regularly to sync all my contacts on the N810) is available for OS2008.

Bad news:

• it's not in extras
• nobody seems to be working on the packaging for Maemo any longer (see this: Help wanted: maintainers for Maemo and Mac OS X)
• no version I'd be aware of for M5

Is there anyone out there who'd be interested in maintaining this for Maemo? Including OS2008?

Benefits:

• Best syncing solution I'm aware of for OS2008 (OK, nothing new here, we already have a working version for OS2008)
• Syncevolution 0.9 comes with a GUI (current Maemo-versions are command line only)
• Syncevolution works over http and fills a gap on the N900 (Maemo 5 doesn't provide SyncML-support over the network)

I support this request and need syncevolution for Fremantle, too!

Somebody has tried to compile it but with an error at the end: http://maemo.org/community/maemo-dev..._in_fremantle/
Maybe somebody else can help!?

Not sure where I should be providing feedback, but .... downloaded Syncevolution yesterday evening & it works beautifully!
