Light cycles game for the n900
Now with the power of opengl it should be possible to play games
like armagetron on the n900. If the accelerometer responsiveness is fast enough, we could use it as input control I successfully build armagetron in scratchbox. But it seems there is no way to simulate the accelerometer. Sadly i won't be able to get a real device. So maybe someone with a device can try to make a port. |
Re: Light cycles game for the n900
well, because there are only 4 directions, I think touch screen buttons or physical keys would work a lot better than jerking the device around.
Just my 2 cents |
Re: Light cycles game for the n900
wouldn't there technically only be 2 directions (turning left or turning right?)
In that case, definitely making the far left and right edges of the screen touch buttons would work awesome. I can't code for peanuts, but I've got an N900 and would love to help test this. |

So 3 buttons to steer you and slow you down? I don't think the forwards button does anything |

Obviously we don't want to be pressing 'up' on the screen. Would be cool if we could map the volume rocker to work as an accelerator button. |
Re: Light cycles game for the n900
At least in armagetron there is no speed up key. You can
turn left and right and use the brake to slow down. Using on screen buttons: I don't have any experience in playing that kind of game with a touchscreen device . So I would be afraid to damage my screen when the pressure is to high. Am I to fearful? |

Of course this *could* be accelerometer-based, but I think that would suck, personally. Zeemote support would be sick, as well (combined with TV-Out? OMG.) |
