Yes, both mplayer and kmplayer are in extras-devel for the N900.

As you have a device:

How is video playback anyway? I didn't like the integrated player in 4, as that a) was a tad slower than mplayer and b) was a tad limited in what it could play.

In other words: Have you stumbled across videos for which you had to use mplayer instead of the integrated player?

And: How optimized is mplayer for the n900 at the moment? I know that it can play moldy cottage cheese, but how much CPU does it need to do so?
