You can shortcut right to -- http://srobbin.com/mobilevideo/ -- do a search and download the .avi. I was able to watch (though a tad choppy) a quick find on iPhone. The Video Player app did not recognize this file, but MPlayer was able to get it going...

Any advantages over VidConvert which does work on the 770's built-in player?

Actually I doubt it now that I know about vidconvert. my preference is for both youtube and the main video player. plus your bookmarklet...

Gave this a try last night and the bookmarklet works superbly with YouTube. Thanks!

when you are finished converting your videos on vidconvert. is the video supposed to start or i have to start it. As soon as it had finished converting it won't start so i thought is something supposed to happen?.

Err, click on the link to the resulting video and you'll get a dialogue box from Opera: Open, Save or Cancel (IIRC).

"Open" passes the URL to the Video Player which should then start it playing.
