800x480 + WiFi + Media! Finally!
http://www.engadget.com/2006/10/20/d...ut-with-hsdpa/
Finally, someone else gets it. Web browsing cannot be done at 320px wide! 640px wide? Not even! This thing does 800x480px (just like the 770) but adds DMB and specialized hardware for playing multiple formats of videos smoothly (something the 770 lacks or al least hasn't utilized). It is slightly larger than the 770, but not too much so (look at the hand in the pic). If fact, does the design look suspiciously smilar to anyone? Sad to say though that Digital Cube misses the openness of the 770/Linux. It runs windows. |
Very promising. Does their stuff typically get released in the US?
|
dude,
it runs Windoze CE. that is soooooo lame..... |
Yep, WinCE wouldn't be my first choice, too.
If it were at least Windows 2K or XP, but CE... Else it looks nice, and maybe it's not as limited as the 770, regarding memory and speed;-) And from the photos it looks as if a USB keyboard can easily be connected:-) |
WinCE kills it for me also.
|
Who are DigitalCube NetForce? First time I've heard of them; that they are Korean is about the only information I can find on them.
Usually, when a small company tries to pioneer something, it comes with a very heavy pricetag... |
Keep dreaming.

And, lest we forget, Windows C.E. itself will up the price. Has to be licensed by Digitalcube, after all.

It's taken well over two years for WinCE apps to natively support 640x480 resolution - in fact many still don't! What hope is there for 800x480 native support? Precious little!
A Microsoftie blogs about WinCE resolutions here and attempts to explain why they dug themselves such a deep and cr@ppy hole. 800x480 on WinCE, or just pixel doubled nastiness? I think I know the answer... ;) |
