Nokia patents "pressure sensitive" capacitive multitouch.
http://www.engadget.com/2009/10/24/n...ve-multitouch/
Sorry folks, it turned out that is was capacitive touchscreen instead of resistive one :( |
Re: Nokia patents resistive multitouch.
No link. But I want to read this. This is very good news. :)
Edit: Thank 'ee! |
Re: Nokia patents resistive multitouch.
The word "capacitative" was mentioned a few times at the summit in Harmattan context, but this development may mean that Harmattan will be able to run on Fremantle devices after all.

Re: Nokia patents resistive multitouch.
Perhaps related to liqbase's fake multi touch support(certainly enough for scale and rotate)?

Re: Nokia patents resistive multitouch.
Engadget article doesn't say anything about resistive screen. Lets see what the linked patent application says.
The sensor surface is a capacitive sensor surface arranged to produce the location indicator as a response to a situation in which a distance between the sensor surface and the external object is less than a pre-determined limit value. I bolded the part that makes thread title somewhat silly. |
Re: Nokia patents resistive multitouch.
The patent talks about both, and combinations thereof (search for "touch sensitive").

Combination resistive and capacitive sounds very interesting. |

The title doesn't want correct itself. :| |
Re: Nokia patents resistive multitouch.
I hope nokia stays with resistitive technology. It’s much more accurate and it’s very important for the Asian markets that you can handwrite.
