N810 not booting to internal SD card after Firmware Upgrade
After performing the N810's over the air software upgrade it booted to the internal flash OS. While I'm running (cloned the OS) on the internal SD card as you remember...
Anyway, I ran that set-root-device command from the flash OS when it booted but I'm not getting any menu in the boot process. I'm guessing it probably messed something else during the upgrade (I think I remember having this issue before). Do you have any thoughts what is going on? Thanks, Liran. |
Re: N810 not booting to internal SD card after Firmware Upgrade
You need to reinstall the boot menu. You still need to upgrade the OS on the SD. When you upgrade, the boot menu gets wiped, so you'll need to install the boot menu again. Use "Console-tools" to install boot menu.

Did you mean to say that I still need to upgrade the OS on the flash?
I didn't find the app Console-tools when searching for packages... |

You only need to remember one thing. Penguinbait!
Go to www.penguinbait.com. Find the blog there. Look thru the message links, and you will find a link to the console-tools thread. Penguinbait is great about updating the messages, so you don't have to worry about what is in the big thread, just carefully read the beginning. This is what I do every time I install console-tools, and I have done it many times. |

when i go Control Panel > About, there is no "OS version", it just say Unknown (where I suppose it should be). Is there a "terminal-console" way to check OS version? (i'll post the problems I detected later on a post) I appreciate your comments, thanks |
