Test your wifi security using your tablet?
1 Attachment(s)
Have anyone tried this to see how/if it can crack through your wifi router?
I must admit it's a bit scary to think that my tablet may be able to 'hack through' my router. Interesting post here: http://eeelucky.blogspot.com/2009/03...n-n800810.html Will see if I can download it later and try it out. Screenshot: (Edit: Found a thread here on maemo.org about it actually: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=20888 ) But...wow...check out this video of a tool for upcoming Mer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Npjjr_hSzY Yaoza.... |
Re: Test your wifi security using your tablet?
Basically the problem with n810 is the packet injection, which is not possible. And if you have a laptop do to the injection, well, you could do everything on the laptop. I guess n900 won't be able to do packet injection either, but that would deserve a check.
Another point is that the n810 doesn't have too much power to calcul stuff, and cracking wireless encryption might be power-hungry. Oh and, depending on why you want this (is this for surfing freely or for doing professional penetration testing?), nxx0 might not be the perfect device. |

And use WPA2/CCMP (AES), not WPA2/TKIP

Time to change it. Thanks. (and in regards to the injection point - I thought the video linked to above showed injection). |

WPA2 is AES-based CCMP. There is no WPA2/TKIP. Just don't use WPA or WPA/TKIP. Use WPA2/CCMP aka WPA2/AES (There are alternatives to WPA2 PSK (Personal). For the average home user WPA2 PSK (Personal) is sufficient.) |
