App Manager reports libosso-gnomevfs2-common broken

Hello Everyone,
I have the Application Manager reporting that 'libosso-gnomevfs2-common' is broken. The version I have is 2.12.0.11-mh1. The unit is acting a little flaky, apps are started and then disappear. I am unable to update this package or uninstall it with App Manager. The package details tells me that this package is required by 'libosso-gnomevfs2-02.12.0.11-1' and 'osso-af 0.2006.17' neither of which I can find with the App Manager.
I have OS2006 installed. I did go through with the App Manager; after adding most of the repositories listed at maemo; and installed the available 'lib' files. Did I install something that I shouldn't have?

I called Nokia, got connected to a level 2 tech and she walked me through flashing my tablet with the sofware updater from <http://www.nokiausa.com/support/phones/softwareupdate/1,8461,770,00.html>. Am I the only one that thinks it's a little strange that the updater requires Windows? Oh well, I have my tablet back and it was painless. A good experience all the way around. Now to make sure I don't make the same mistake twice which could be fun because I don't know what happened. I'm thinking it had to do with Maemo Mapper because that was the one thing my two tablets had in common and the last thing I worked one before I found the broken library.

There is a flash utility for both Linux and Windows. I've successfully used both.

Do you have a link where I might find the utility for Linux? Reimaging from the command line is a little beyond me yet.

Xterm advanced

Hello, I have the same problem, but I think it appeared when I installed the "advanced" version of Xterm (not the one from fssecurity).

I haven't gotten around yet to trying to get rid of it. I don't feel like flashing.

Re: App Manager reports libosso-gnomevfs2-common broken

Ok I tried upgrading things in the red pill mode and broke libosso-gnomevfs2-common, libosso-gnomevfs2 and ssh.

I don't really want to flash my tablet. Is there any way to force install an older version of the above.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Okay got it sorted! The apt-get package can downgrade software as well and used it to correct the broken packages.
