I read that article a few days ago. It would have been interesting if it wasn't so fact-bare that I had to go back to the beginning and doublecheck that the writer actually had the devices. It seems like one of those generic articles to pull in ad clicks.

I can't consider that a serious review... Pretty much no arguments at all.

Personally, I'm between the N900 and the Droid. I don't like Motorola, but Android seems really good, and Droid has decent hardware overall.

Maemo does look interesting, but I'm affraid about it's future and market, and the N900 has 2 big flaws in my opinion:
1) Huge size. Seems like most top-end Nokia's are way thick.
2) Resistive screen. Yeah, I do understand it allows you to use a stilus, but let's face it, capacitive with multitouch is way more interesting in 95% of the time.

Motorola Milestone (GSM Droid) was announced in Brazil (where I live), while N900 is still not being shipped worldwide. That's a big deciding factor in my case.

I've played around with the Android SDK and was really impressed. My only dislike was the emulator performance, but everything else is awesome. As I want to do some apps for my phone, this is important too. I'm not very fond of C memory allocation problems ;), but that's probably because I'm a Java developer.

If I go the Android way (Moto Milestone) I'll probably be happy with the screen resolution, touch-screen and Android OS, but I'll complain about the keyboard and camera.
I'll definitelly miss the Maemo's video players versatility. That's a big con for Android for now.

Its pretty clear the reviewwe doesn't actually have the DROID unit. Notice the usage of the word 'reportedly' twice. Also the reviewer is in UK where the DROID would not function as a phone.


..."As for the last of the smartphones, the Droid, well, it reportedly does not support zoom in and zoom out gestures (i.e. no pinching - you need to double tap to zoom in and zoom out).

Though Droid promises the "greatest web experience on the phone" and it has been designed to support Flash 10, the smartphone also reportedly will not come installed with Flash 10."...

Droid, known as Milestone in Europe, does support multi-touch and pinch/zoom, et al in that region.
