N900's keyboard issue
 

I played with the N900 for bit in a flagship store this morning.

The keys on the top row is very annoying as every time I try to type something that has the letters on the top row, my fingers (thumbs to be more specific) kept touching the screen!

I didn't have this issue on the N97, on the N97 the top row keys are more 'spacious' from the screen.

Anyone else been using the device for the past several months find it frustrating?

No, but then I didn't find the top row of the N810's keyboard cramped either.

When I first got the N810 I found the top row a bit cramped, but got used to it quite quickly. Anyone who has both devices: how does the top row of the N900 compare to the N810?

I own a N810 and have played around with the N900 in Nokia flagship store in Helsinki and didn't find the top row hard to use. I'll try to compare them more closely once I get my own N900 :)

Despite the N900's smaller size, the space between its keyboard and screen is actually greater than on the N810, though the larger bevel around the N900's keyboard hides the difference somewhat.

Thanks for that excellent picture. Hmm, the keys are a lot smaller than the N810's, although most people I've heard from prefer the N900 keyboard over the N810's in general.

I'm one of those who never had any complaints about the N810's keyboard.* I've always found using it a pleasant experience.

Initially, I did not like the N900's keyboard. It wasn't the size of the keys I disliked, but the feel. Additionally, the necessary move of additional characters behind the "blue arrow" to accommodate one less row of keys caused me great frustration while typing. In all, I couldn't achieve the same typing speed I was used to with my N810. However, at this point, I've grown used to the N900's keyboard, and the N810's keyboard has begun to feel squishy.


* Okay, aside from the paint scraping off. That's quite a different sort of issue though.

Personally I was concerned about the keyboard, but when I tried it was pleasantly surprised. Certainly compared to portrait qwerty keyboard its so much better (I despise those).

what about the arabic keyboard??? anynews if it is already implemented???
