With 2.2006.39-14 do bt headsets work? keyboard?
Is it time to go buy a headset? Has anyone tried it with the new kernel?
What about keyboards? Do we still need the bt-plugin? |
Yes, of course you still need the Bluetooth plugin. Why's it surprising on a bugfix release that major new functionality isn't introduced?
TBH, I don't see why Nokia need to bundle BT keyboard support anyway, as has been said on the other threads, it's an open system. Install what you want. Let Nokia use their resources to concentrate on other things. Of course, once Nokia start officially supporting Bluetooth GPSes, we'll see official Bluetooth support. Which is IT 2007, it seems. Although there are a number of irritating outstanding bugs in the latest firmware, I don't think it's any worse than the previous. Yes, that is damning with feint praise. Cheers, Andrew |

The new OS isn't perfect, I and others have found bugs too. The way Nokia are managing the IT OS development process, it's not perfect either. Rather than waste time on your bog, why not open bugzilla tickets and at least try to help fix some of the bugs? Your bog is not helping. |

I just thought they'd actually fixed BT headsets for calling:
>The update includes improvements in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections, >Internet calling audio quality and browser functionality, among other >things. But, alas. |

There are hints of an IT 2007: a reference in Bugzilla to an embedded Bluetooth control panel applet in IT 2007; the reference to a post-"IT 2006 OS" on the Nokia Bluetooth page etc. But there's no confirmation of anything like that from Nokia :-( |
Well, if we have new hardware being readied for market (as in that other FCC thread), that would entail another lease for Maemo at least through 2007, wouldn't it ?

I PM'd you the other day. I have since been in touch with Tommi Komulainen at Nokia and a plan is in place. He was going to chase someone at Nokia to get it out there. And I noticed that he has listed it again on the week's developer issues, so it looks like your roadmap Q will be answered at some point. Cheers Rich |
