Resize partition
Has someone any disk manager tool for maemo?
1. unmount /home/opt 2. unmount /MyDocs 3. delete /Mydocs partition 4. resize /home/opt (10GB) 5. create new EXT3 partition for /MyDocs Has someone already tried it? |
Re: Resize partition
There is another thread about the partitions of the N900, but why do you want to do this? :-)

Re: Resize partition
Well there was partitioning software ported over from Linux onto Maemo. Gparted. But that's because we were usually in flash and partitioning for booting onto SD. Not sure if it's different than the previous tablets (though it'd probably be closer to the n810 since the n810 had memory built in as well).
Even if there wasn't anything I believe you could just do it in any linux distro with gparted. |
Re: Resize partition
I'd imagine the Linux commands in Xterm would do it, though you'd need to run it from the external card as it'd be impossible to unmount /opt with an app running.

Re: Resize partition
1. edit fstab config file, move /opt to an other partiotion
2. copy the files from /opt to the new /opt 3. reboot the system. 4. remove and resize the partition old /opt 5. fstab config back and copy the files to the resized partition 6. reboot the system. ??? |

Personally I am considering deleting MyDocs AND Home/opt then just having a large /home partition, so I never need to think about it. Then just have a microSD card mounted as mass storage for those times its handy to slap things on from Windows. |
Re: Resize partition
Can you expand the swap partition for more virtual memory?
