Connecting bluetooth keyboard to the N900
Hello everyone, new to the forums.
I have been using Palm PDA's for many years, and I'm now switching to the N900. I have been using the Palm Bluetooth Wireless Keyboard (3245WW), which in my opinion is one of the best external Bluetooth keyboards I've found. I’m now wondering, would it be possible to connect it to the N900? If it is, how much work would it require? From what I've read it seems like atleast the N800 supports pretty much all HID compatible keyboards out of the box, is this perhaps also the case with the N900? I found a plug-in similar to what I would need for the Nokia 770. http://770.fs-security.com/maemo-bt-plugin/ Would it be possible to install this one on the N900 just as is, or would it require porting? Thank you in advance! |

Re: Connecting bluetooth keyboard to the N900
I opened a project at garage.maemo in order to write a enabler for the HID keyboards, not need to mess with the system files :P .
By my tests everything works fine, as long the keyboard is supported under Linux[1], it will also works in the N900. [1] Note some keyboard manufactures doesn't respect the BT HID standard, so their keyboards normally doesn't work out of the box in Linux, that's happen a lot with the fruit company keyboards for e.g ;). |

Doesn't the Blue Maemo app add this functionality, or is it not for the N900?
