Please Help with Connectivity on N810, Apps, Others
 

I have had the N810 for over a year and recently realized that I have been 'underutilizing' its potentials (I apologize):). It has not gotten much use other than in the bedroom or bathroom to quickly browse news or check emails. Of late, I have been reading up on what this device can do and have been amazed at what I found out. (Really, recommend the Internet Tablet School for anyone!)

Anyway, here is what I need help with (I live in US):
1. Is it possible to use the data service of my personal Sprint phone (Samsung Moment) or my work phone (BB Storm on Verizon) for internet services on the N810?
2. Is there an app to make calls with Google Voice number on the N810 without using a phone?
3. Is there a way to use the built-in camera for cam chat with a yahoo, msn, aim, or skype account?
4. Is there an app that can be used for yahoo or hotmail emails apart from using the browser? Something that will be set up to automatically check emails?

I apologize if these have been addressed elsewhere. Do direct me to them, if so. Thanks.

Note Power Search, which is Google Custom Search. If using regular Search, consider that you can get results as Show Posts rather than Show Threads.

If you're left with residual questions once you've searched, post them into a relevant thread.

It seems to me that most guys that know Linux based systems well are often dismissive of others that are not the well adept at it. Had similar snobbish experience with Ubuntu forum.:(

Anyway, I spent the whole night on the power search and did not see any solutions to my problems.
I did however, discover (playing with the device on my own) that I can use Gizmo5 and Dialcentral on my N810 to make calls without routing my calls through my phone. Big breakthrough for me!!!:) I can call everyone on my Gmail account contact list and it is basically free for US and Canada calls and GV rates for other international calls.

Problems still remaining:
1. Bluetooth DUN connection with N810 and BB Storm and/or Samsung Moment
2. Chat client for yahoo, msn, aim, that uses the built-in webcam.
3. Mail client for yahoo, hotmail on N810.

Please be nice and help out if you can.

Actually, I don't know Linux at all but, worse yet, I don't do anything on the N8x0's in the areas you are asking. For mail, I prefer to stay web-based rather than use a client. For chat client with the webcam, I'm pretty sure you're just out-of-luck with using the webcam with those chat clients. see, e.g.,

I don't know anything about your specific phones, nor have I tethered my N800, but there's no help in any of these threads?

I did check out the links before. I did not get the amsn to work for me. Thanks for the effort anyway.

Tethering will be what I really would like to do.
