Libglade ??????

I have been trying to install new apps on my new 770
but sometimes I get message:
unable to install missing components

under details it says: missing
Libglade 2-0 1.2.3.6

What the hell is this and what to do??

I do not know anything about Linux and do not have
the time to become a student

Why can't they make apps that automatically install
and add anything necessary???

Try adding the following to your application manager sources:

Quote:

Repository: [WWW] http://maemo.o-hand.com/packages
Distribution: mistral/
Component: (leave blank)
It contains libglade2-0_2.4.0-1osso1_armel.deb which should work.
NOTE:
Be sure to put the slash at the end of "mistral/"

Thanks

that did the trick for most of them except one
which asks for python 2.4-gtk2

any more tricks like the above to do this?

And how do I do something like VNC viewer which does not have a repository?

I sure wish Nokia had put all of this in the users manual!

Python is listed at http://maemo.org/maemowiki/ApplicationCatalog2006 as needing the following:
Quote:

Repository: [WWW] http://repository.maemo.org/
Distribution: mistral
Component: free
For the VNC viewer get your Nokia on the internet and open the web browser. Type in
Quote:

derek.a.coleman.googlepages.com/vncviewer_0.3.3-i_armel.deb
It would probably be easier to go to http://maemo.org/maemowiki/ApplicationCatalog2006 web page and click on the VNC link from there.

and it should start up the Application Manager and ask if you want to install it.

Thanks

I got the vncviewer installed

now I just have to figure out how to use it! they sure make things complicated.

As to the python I downloaded it but then I got message:

unable to install with no explanation of why not

Actually, there's an even more recent version of VNC Viewer located here.
