questions about n900
 

im planning to get this phone as bday gift for myself. lol but i'm having some questions in mind. like (1) what comes after this n900? Nokia is known for its fast pace in releasing phones.. like n97, then suddenly came n97 mini followed immediately by n900.. will it be followed by another phone too quickly that i'd regret buying it? (2) since it's a web browser and all, is there some kind of virus scanner for it? (3) if there'd be a maemo 6, can i also use it for the n900? and the last one (4) why is the price dropping quickly? last week, i looked it up on the nokia site and it's $649.. now it's only $569.. what's wrong with it that it suddenly dropped price? thanks!:p

1. No way of knowing for sure. There are rumours that there might be one more device released before Maemo 6 comes.
2. No virus scanner, but also no known viruses.
3. Nobody knows yet. Maybe yes, maybe not.
4. Usual early adopter tax. Higher price for people who must have it first.

oh and i just remembered some more questions.. can it have a yahoo messenger? or maybe use a site like meebo.com for it? and does it support facebook chat like on a real computer? thanks!

Fast pace?? The only thing fast about nokia is them announcing a new phone, not releasing!

Seriously, they havnt even announced their next one yet, so you will be fine for a long while yet

I am positive about Facebook chat,
you can even play your games with it :D
For yahoo messenger you could use Pidgin for example.
(not sure there is a specific app for YM)

I got mine for $525.

And you can use pidgin for yahoo messenger, and it also allows other clients...You can use facebook chat, but it isnt the best, as it has a lag for whatever reason and it messes up one too many times.
