Question About Shutting Off The LCD
 

Is there a way to turn off the LCD without locking the screen and buttons on an N8*0? What I'd like is a way to turn off the LCD at night when my N810 is sitting next to my bed and I can just touch the screen to turn it back on without having to fumble with the lock switch when I get an email/IM.

settings > control panel > display > "switch off display:"

I see nothing there that switches off display other than the time length. What I would like is possibly a command in Xterm that will shut off the lcd and allow it to come back on when touched. I would just put this in a personal menu entry.
