N900 "functional" Google Maps in Firefox?

From this article:
http://www.fonehome.co.uk/2009/11/to...ontent=Twitter

It claims that:

"Firefox
The Nokia N900 browser is solid enough already, but Firefox Mobile for the Nokia N900 brings some excellent additions, including fully functioning Google Maps with location"

Okay, so does anyone know what they mean by this? Is this any different/better then the awesome Maemaps
( http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=33645 )
with maemo-geolocation browser extension installed?

So I just downloaded the new FireFox Mobile for N900. Still not sure how to get Google Maps on it. I went to m.google.com/go and when I click on Maps or Gmail, it still says that my browser isn't supported.

I know everyone is using Maemaps right now but I get the feeling you have to be like an "advanced" user or something to know how to mess with that thing.

Google Maps works for me in the *default* browser of the N900.
That linked article is just plain wrong.

I think the "with location" bit is the difference. Firefox is supposed to be location-aware now, right?

Depends on what you need.
Simplest use case is looking for a location: open the maeMaps page (bookmark?), then just start typing and hit enter.
Directions? Fill in the second textbox at the right (tap it once, write destination, hit enter).
Of course there is much more, but for basic usage, it's very easy.

What could I improve on it? I'm open for any suggestions.

I also don't understand it. The basic "location" functionality is available in MicroB too - however, you need the maemo-location plugin to get it really running.
I'd guess Firefox needs a similar add-on to connect the browser's functonality to the device' location API.

I've tried the firefox mobile and it's slower than a week in the jail. Just doesn't do it for me at all.

It was slow before i put the weave on, don't get me wrong i'm happy with the full browser but i wanted something faster for when i'm out and about.
