Time tracking app
To the developers out there, I have an app suggestion:
I searched to find something like this and couldn't. I work on a couple of different projects in my work as a chemist and need to keep track of the time spent on each project for billing and management. It would be cool to have a simple app with as many categories as you want where you could start it when you started work and it would keep track of how much time you spent and it would keep track of categories. If there was a list of projects if you switched, you could just push the new category and start keeping track of the new one. I could imagine a project list- a start, stop, pause button, a window that showed time spent per project and a place to enter some additional information per block of time. Anyway, I think this would be broadly useful for a variety of professionals including doctors, lawyers, accountants, etc. For lawyers you may have to figure out how to work on two projects at the same time or how to have more than 24 hours per day:D I hope this isn't redundant or in the wrong place, but I thought it would be worth throwing out there if there are developers looking for ideas. Thanks, timzog |
Re: Time tracking app
something like this?
Sound like a good idea for an app request. |
Re: Time tracking app
+1. I want it, too. A comment on the Running Timer, unless one wants to only focus programmers and computer workers, it has to be possible to start and stop manually, and not be dependent on the mouse moving.
App requests. Where is that? I went to the Sandbox because I had an idea. I learned that I needed to first enter what the problem was that was going to be solved, and then I had to suggest a solution. Others could also suggest solutions. And then there is voting - thumbs up and down. Is this the location you mean? Is there any way to track how many have seen your problem/solution? In the end I removed mine, because there wasn't any comment to it. Traffic seems low over there. Most of the action is in the N900 forum. |
Re: Time tracking app
Hopbeat,
Thanks for the reply. I was thinking of something simpler and with more Maemo goodness of course, but that is definitely along the lines of the need that I see. Maybe just a simple widget with one button for each project/client and then a pause stop button and then one button that brings up a screen with summaries. Thanks, This community is really quite impressive. |
Re: Time tracking app
GPE-timesheet may provide a workable solution for you.
