Maemo SDK Installation issues

Okay, i must be totally stupid not understanding the installation of the Maemo SDK on Windows + VMware + intrepid server image, because i am not getting the development enviroment to work...

Anyhow, the issue is that i downloaed the image, started it on vmware etc. The image is the server image wich doesn't contain the GUI components. I tried to configure the image with ESbox but when i try to validate the virtual machine it sais that "/scratchbox" folder doesn't exist on the vm. And yeah, it doesn't (why is that, this is supposed to be a RTR image right?) anyway, i try to install the scratchbox through apt-get directly, no luck, the files in the repo doesn't exist (404 on http://maemo-sdk.garage.maemo.org/do...d/free/binary/) and the same result is with goddamned every install script i've found on the Internet. Is there something i'm totally missing here or just being plain stupid and doing everything wrong?

Ubuntu-Intrepid simply is too old. Use Jaunty or Karmic.

i was using the image found on http://maemovmware.garage.maemo.org/...ion/index.html

Why are these even online if they are too old? what's the point with these then?

Re: Maemo SDK Installation issues

Nice, i got it working, "just" did a plain manual installation of the scratchbox...
Anyway, i was wondering about the performance, i have a 2Ghz dual core setup, and when i run locally the VM and a Xming X-server on windows, the performance of the emulator is quite poor, navigating the menus ie, is quite slow... is the poor performance moreof a feature because of the emulation, x-server or are there some things you can do to increase performance?
