Desktop battery chargers
 

Well after cancelling my original preorder from beginning of October and waiting for some reviews I have reordered the N900.

The battery life sounds like it could get problematic but I figured I'd just get a spare battery to carry around, it's not like they're huge or anything.
To charge the spare and whilst using the current battery I thought I'd get a desktop charger. The only ones I've found seem to be of the hong kong/china built type. I've had some mixed experiences with those types of products before ranging from working great to not working at all.

Has anyone bought one yet or any recommendations?

Yes, I too would like to find a reliable charger for BL-5J.

Don't know anything about desktop chargers... but what about the Nokia DC-11... i think it would do the trick... no?

That's not a desktop charger though. What we need is something that takes just a spare battery and fills it while we are using the N900 with the other battery. I've been looking left and right and found only one such product. It's not very expensive though! I have no idea if it will blow up your battery and burn down your cottage, but I might get one. If you have any other similar products, let us know!

This one's not ideal, because I'd like something where you slip in your battery so it stands vertically in a sort of docking station. This solution seems to require a lot of pushing, pulling and prying, but at least it's a start.

Is the BL-5J used in any older Nokia phones that would be cheap 2nd hand as a "desktop charger"? Clicking on the compatibility list on the Nokia website says the N900, 5800, and X6 use it, so probably not... anyone know if any older phones use the battery?

yeah, those are all the kind of ones that I have seen so far. I just thought I'd see if there are any recommendations that could be used before jumping in.
The chargers themselves aren't expensive but they could get annoying.
