installation destination for apps?
 

where are applications installed, on the 32gb partition? or is there a smaller partition where apps are installed?

i ask because i am out of system storage on my n810 but have plenty of space on the memory card, and it would be nice to be able to use the memory card to store apps!

Have a look at http://wiki.maemo.org/N900_filesystem (and http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=36166). There's currently no way to install apps to the memory card.

Question is about N900 based on experience with N810.

N900 has 2 GB partition for installing applications.

They are suppose to install to the 2 GB /opt partition..

However non-optified applications will install to the /root partition which only contains 256 MB..

The question was Not about the N810! It was about the N900, but I used the N810 as a comparison only.
