Internet Radio - Stations

Hi All,

I'm new to internet radio stations so thought I would ask one or two questions.

Firstly where do I find N900 compatible Radio stations.

For example this one doesn't work:
http://www.radioguide.fm/internet_ra...ghveld947fm_za

And neither does the link you get directly from there site:
http://www.highveld.co.za/planet947/player.asp

When I look at some of the default stations on my N900 I see Capital FM, but the link is not the same as what you get from listening on the site it'self.
So how do I find links that will work ?

Any help would be awesome :-)

Thanks
Chris

Hi Stobbsc,
Sorry I can't fully answer your question as I'm not entirely sure myself. However, when I had my N900, I added a few stations to the internet radio. I had a look at all of the url's and file ending and actually just assumed that a few wouldn't work - like those ending in asp seeing as Microsoft created ASP's in the first place. I therefore only added links that ended in mp3, or m3u - if I've got that one right (whichever is the playlist extension). Or any station that listed itself as an mp3 stream. Any of those worked for me.

However, this doesn't help for specific radio sites you are browsing to - especially if you can't quite see the link it is opening. If I get a chance, I'll look into it som emore - though I no longer have my N900 to test anything, so hopefully someone else can help with what formats/url's it'll work with.

Hopefully you have a little direction for finding new stations that'll work.

You can try visitin that URL in the web browser and it should allow you to play it in the media plaer if it's supported.

This site works great on my N800. You need to know the call sign of the station tho. http://www.thestreamcenter.com/pda/ ; )

Is there any possibility of getting S60's Internet Radio Browser on Maemo5? It has a more comprehensive list of stations world wide, not to mention the ability to sort and run through those lists in a intuitive manner.

This one ending in .m3u is not working for me either:

http://stream.kgnu.net:8000/KGNU_live_low.mp3.m3u

Some examples of URL's inputted into the N900 (not stock) that work would be great.

+1 from me

At least the same list of stations. From what I can remember my e71 had more than 48 stations.....

Does anyone know where the links are located in the N900 e.g. which path so I can manually edit the file with new stations?
