New Dates Problems

Dates was just updated and when I run it, it doesn't seem to open the default calendar:

Quote:

$ dates

Got path /org/gnome/evolution/dataserver/calendar/file__home_user__evolution_calendar_local_system for new calendar
dates[1146]: GLIB WARNING ** libecal - e-cal.c:950, open_calendar: Cannot open calendar
dates[1146]: GLIB WARNING ** libecal - Encountered error: org.gnome.evolution.dataserver.calendar.Cal.nosuch cal
dates[1146]: GLIB WARNING ** default - Cannot open calendar from uri 'file:/home/user/.evolution/calendar/local/system': Cannot open calendar

Anyone else seeing this? I can't create any appointments.

Ya ... mine does that too. It looks like something went horribly wrong.
It is a really nice looking app ... too bad it is not functional.

Me too.

To be precise, I didn't notice those messages to stdout, but I did notice that my calendar was completely empty after updating to 0.2-1!

I raised a bug yesterday on Opened Hand's bugzilla: http://bugzilla.o-hand.com/show_bug.cgi?id=174

You need open Calender>Properties and select you (Personal) default Calender.

Can some one confirm this bug http://bugzilla.openedhand.com/show_bug.cgi?id=172 in new version?

The dialog that comes up when I go to Calendar->Properties is empty.

Mine too ... is there some initialization that is missing for those just installing but not upgrading?

I had it installed when 0.1 came out but removed it since then and I think that I have also reflashed my 770 by then so there shouldn't be any old dates cruft left over.

Please check if you have home/users/.evolution/calendar/local/system/calendar.ics file. You nedd xterm installed. And please if you can, post this file here http://bugzilla.o-hand.com/show_bug.cgi?id=174

Many thanks, that worked for me.

Resetting the gconf keys with the instructions in http://bugzilla.o-hand.com/show_bug.cgi?id=164 (running 'gconftool-2 -u /apps/evolution/calendar/sources' in the terminal) made it so I could then select the Personal Calendar and make things work again.
