Ooo intruiging, erm... i'm really not sure (Not helpful is it!) - but the BES Server links to an exchange server? - and your N900 can get the exchange(Ish.. search for other posts on this), IMAP or POP output from that :) |
Re: can you get BlackBerry mail on the n900
As far as I'm aware, only BlackBerries can connect to the BES - it's a proprietary syncing protocol.
The n900 might be able to use syncXML though. Do a Google search for Funambol to find an alternative to the Blackberry stuff. |

what abt the so called Blackberry Connect ?

Nokia N900 corporate email, unfortunately, has a lot to be desired. there is no search function and I could not get it to sync with my server. my iphone has no issues

Thank you for your coments, this seems to be a great phone - but this a huge drawback - e-mail is a major aspect of any business phone. Hope that this will be addressed soon. |

Blaming Nokia for this is like blaming Pepsi for Internet Explorer. Blackberry's success was almost entirely due to offering push-mail when others were not. What is the business case for opening-up the spec?
If you can convince RIM to release control over their addict-base, please do-so. |
Re: can you get BlackBerry mail on the n900
I know this is a REALLY old thread, but I can't find info anywhere else.
I've just started contracting with a company that uses Lotus Notes and BES. As a contractor I won't get a BB, I have a notes account but have to login thru a VPN gateway to view it on a citrix delivered desktop. If I can persuade the very nice IT dept to push the emails to my N900, can it be done? Just wondering if there have been any developments on MfE/BES integration with the latest PR releases I have not been aware of previously? Push mail to the N900 would be a lifesaver compared to having to logon and check every so often. |
