Indexing search in Contacts
At the moment contact search works according to "Display names" setting. If it's set to "Nickname" then you can search only by a nickname, start typing the first or the last person's name and you get no result; the same for "First name Last name" setting and others, type a nickname - no matches again.
What would be really great if it could index all the contacts and search by several keywords at the same time, for instance you type "gmail leo 0556" and all the contacts which have these in either email filed or phone number or address or nickname or whatever will be listed. I guess Android "Quick Search Box" does that and even more, it can search by applications, files etc. At least for contacts this kind of functionality is very essential. Lets Brainstorm it? |
