I can find skype in the n900.

do I have to download it?

Skype is intergrated in your device. So you can call your desired contact through skype under their details in your N900's address book.

Try this:
1. Go to: Menu> settings> VoIP and IM accounts
2. press "new"
3. choose skype ....
All contacts from skype will be in your address book

You add a new IM account in conversations:

I you're looking for a availability status, go to contacts and sort by availability.

You can access it from the phone app once you have it installed->

Click on "Call Type" to switch between Cellular or VOIP providers.

I have 'enabled' skype. I see the button to press for 'call with skype' but everytime I try to make a call, I get a message that says 'Availability must be online to perform this action'

I have tried connecting with Fring and its skype function but I don't even get a list of my contacts from skype. I tried to manually call with Fring/skype and it also says I must be signed in.

Anyone can tell me what is the matter? Or what I am doing wrong?
