N900 vs k850i and n810
 

I own a Sony Ericsson k850i mobile phone and Nokia N810 tablet. I am interested in combining these into one device... specifically the n900. I was wondering if this was wise? Is the n900 better as a phone than my k850i? I use an ASDA sim.

The increased battery life of the n900 is really an attractive feature among other things and my n810 is really rather slow, I am hoping the n900 is faster. Thanks for any words of wisdom.

Old crap? Are you calling my k850i "old crap" ? I can ensure you it's a very good phone with one of the best cameras you can get on a phone. So the n900 is way better as a phone? That's all I wanted to know.

well the k850 maybe HAD one of the best cameras but in no way can it compete with todays camera phones. the n900 as a phone is a bit lacking but its vast multitude of other features and capabilities more than make up for it.

The N900 is much faster than the N810, but note that the battery life is significantly worse.

Not really, it is depending on what sort of work load you running on it though. If you are planing to use it as your Video Player then It won't last more than 4hours. But mp3 player it will last over 12hours. If you are going to use it to browsing Flash contents then it might last 4hours to 6hours depend on what you are running at the same time.

So it is quite various, different people got different outcome. So get a spare battery (Original) just in case :D

How does the n900 camera compare with the k850i and more modern camera phones?

Well the n810 is fast at loading a webpage (due to my fast wireless connection) but actually displaying that and scrolling down is really slow on a lot of websites. The n900 doesn't suffer this problem?

You would recommend I purchase 2 batteries then? Keep them both fully charged and when one runs out, switch over? The battery life on my phone lasts about 5 days if it's always left on, I'm guessing the n900 will no where near touch that, even if I don't do much on it at the time. That's a shame. Is it possible to buy a third party battery which is more efficient?

Dude I'm not recommending any thing, I would buy a spare for myself in case of emergency, as for you I don't care lol. if you are one of the geek (us) then you can manage to configure and tweak the device to consume less battery. Beside it you are a normal user which use it to do some normal task then it will last you between 24hours - 48hours without charge. That is light tasking. But if you leave it on Idle then it would last many days lol. Any device will drain battery if you using it to do thing like a computer. And avoid installing any unstable apps from Extra-testing.. get rid of widgets cos they eat your battery like a hot cake.


GPS is the drainage on any device, Camera, and Wifi. Unless you dumb enough not to know that these thing require power to run.

My N95 only last me one day with above average usage since new. So N900 done way better than my N95 for mile. For a super computing power in it.

Oh one last thing, my nokia 3210 lasted more than 2 weeks without a recharge lol. Beat that!! Your SE K-series is no where near my Old NOKIA.

I had my device (N900 )play mp3 for 6 hour web browsing 4 hour viewing 1 hour video all for that just slightly more than half battery meter . do your own judge ? for me I will take N900 ...! better contender over Sony and old age N810
