Run Leafpad as Root?

Didn't know what else to title this as. I ran Leafpad out of a Root shell and it didn't change anything as far as viewable files are concerned. How do I get a Graphical Text editor to see the "Entire" file system? So that maybe I could edit files in etc without using vi/vim?

Try again? I am able to use rootsh and leafpad to edit config files. Of course, permissions will have to be rw on the file you want to edit. chmod +w will add it if necessary.

Hi,
When I hit open in Leafpad, it only "sees" the MyDocs folder as the top of the directory.

In a terminal window, you can do

Code:

leafpad somefile.ext
and LeafPad will fire up with that particular file open, even if it's outside of the MyDocs realm. If write privileges are set, you should be able to edit away to your heart's content.

So no way for the file browser in Leafpad to be able to browse the entire file system?
