Can't delete videos in Media Player- Fixed
I have 29 videos that i cannot play and cannot delete either. If I delete the files in media player they just re-apear. I do not have a memory car installed and cannot find the files when I connect to my PC as mass storage. There is no sign of them in File manager either
They appear under the category "Film" Any ideas anyone Cheers John |
Re: Can't delete videos in Media Player
How did you put them there?

Re: Can't delete videos in Media Player
Drag and drop via Windows 7 in mass storage mode. They show in the list along with appropiate still thumbnail but "unable to find media file" is the error when attempting to play them. They can even be deleted but reapear as soon as you change view or close and reopen the media player.
It's as if they are stuck in some hidden thumbnail cache. |
Re: Can't delete videos in Media Player
Something to do with tracker (the built-in indexing system) maybe? See http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=36145 thread for instructions on how to rebuild the tracker index. ("tracker-processes --hard-reset" from X Terminal is the short answer). If that works, please post back.
Of course, if this fixes it, the bigger question is why you needed to do it. |
Re: Can't delete videos in Media Player
So in xterminal I typed and ran
tracker-processes --hard-reset Fantastic. Problem sorted. Going back into media player it re-indexed all the content and items have gone. This worked for items that were (or rather were no longer) on the SD card. Thank you very much pelgo. John |

Brilliant, worked for me, don't suppose you can give me a hand doing the same sort of thing with pics?
