ez-ipupdate / dyndns
Has anyone tried the ez-ipupdate package from the debian repository for armel?
It would be awesome to be able to ssh to your device without thinking on which network it is... Even more so if you lost it somewhere and could remotely access the GPS to recover it! It's really a must have... Else, I'll try to look into it to see where it needs hook to update only when it gets a new IP and not waste battery. |

This is a great idea. If nothing else, just to be able to recover your device when/if you lose it.

The way I checked access was get my IP on the N900, I couldn't ping it, and I couldn't secure shell to it. Additionally it had a 10. betwork assignment. |

Ok, here on Fido (Rogers) i get a real IP and can ssh to it...
In any case there could be an option on the hooks to create a reverse ssh tunnel to another dyndns? :-) Also, some autossh hasn't be ported yet. (Haven't tried this actually but sounded interesting) |
