Code:

/sbin/ifconfig wlan0
or to focus only on bytes tranferred (both directions):
Code:

/sbin/ifconfig wlan0 | grep bytes

Thank you j.s. Are these numbers since the wlan connection was established or since the phone got restarted?

Since the phone got restarted.

But don't take my word for it. Switch to offline mode, issue the command, go back online and issue it again. Also note how the second line changes.

You can also do it the GUI way by going to: Settings > Phone > Data counter (scroll down, it's under 'Network'), Lists both up + down usage, has a reset button.

Sorry I've already checked that - it is for gprs and not wlan.

Yes, I can confirm that since the disconnect/connect didn't change the numbers.

Does anybody know where are those values stored?

Basically as the title says. Wlan traffic meter. Does anyone know of a small app or widget or command for this. I see the command posted above but that isn't much use as it is only from last power off/reboot.
Could anyone make an app/widget for this. I don't know the first thing about devel. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be too difficult if you know what you're doing, but maybe I'm wrong. I would be very grateful to anyone who would make something like this. Can anyone help?

NB: This is a request for wlan not gprs data. I have already got dataplan monitor.
