Internal errors and no access to memory

Hey!

Just received my phone a couple of days ago and got several problems from the start that I hoped you could help me with.

When I try to access the web application I get "internal error. Application web closed" This message also pops up every minute. Another message that also pops up every minute is "unable to receive or send messages. Device storage full. remove data to free memory" Even though I got 26,41 gb available. Also when I try to use the camera I get the following message. "Memory not accessible. Unable to save content"

I haven't downloaded any applications in testing or anything like that, The few things I've downloaded where all through app manager.

So is there anything I can do to fix this or should I just try to get this phone replaced?

Re: Internal errors and no access to memory

Sounds dicy.

Can you show the output of the commands (in X-terminal)

mount

and

df -h

?

Re: Internal errors and no access to memory

mount gives the following

rootfs on / type rootfs (rw)
ubi0: rootfs on / type ubifs /rw,,bulk_read, no_chk_data_crc)
proc on proc type proc (rw)
sysfs on /sys typs sysfs (rw)
tmpfs on /tmp type tmpfs (rw, noatime, size=1024k)
tmpfs on /var/run type tmpfs (rw, nosuid, noatime, size 256k, mode=755)
none on /dev type tmpfs (rw, m noatime, size=10240k, mode=755)
devpts on /dev/pts type devpts (rw, gid=5, mode=620)
tmpfs on /dev/shm type tmpfs (rw, nosuid, nodev, noatime, size=6536k)
/dev/mmcblk0p2 on /home type ext3 /rw, noatime, errors=continu, commit=1, data=writeback)

and df -h gives

Re: Internal errors and no access to memory

Well, all that looks pretty normal. I admit I don't have a clue what the trouble is. Sorry!

It might be worth running

dmesg

to see if there's any errors from the storage drivers..

Only other thing I can think of is that it might be something to do with using the storage over usb from another computer..

Not much help, I'm afraid.

Re: Internal errors and no access to memory

Thanks anyway. Couldn't find any error when I typed dmesg.

Another probelm connected with the memory is that in media player it says no song and no videos but can find both when I connect the phone to the computer. Also in file manager I can't find anything, says (no files/folders)

I have exactly the same problem on my N900 received today. If anyone has an answer to this issue, please let me know.

Re: Internal errors and no access to memory

I have also suffered these problems. The internal error shutting down the browser is a minor issue for me personally.

The unable to recieve or send messages memory issue is irritating me however, it come and goes so I figure something I am running is causing it? Though so far it does not seem to have prevented me sending or recieving messages of any kind, just pops up every 30 seconds or so usually in evening rather oddly.

Also, I accessed extras-devel previously with no problem prior to the above issues, tried to get back in today for something and it is unavailable due to 'write error- write (28 no space left on device)'.

Can anyone tell me where this memory might be lacking, I have 15 gig free of storage? Though looking in Conky both rootfs and mmc1 are 100% full.

Output of mount

rootfs on / type rootfs (rw)
ubi0:rootfs on / type ubifs (rw,bulk_read,no_chk_data_crc)

Output of df -h

Seems to be at least a couple of with this problem now, any help would be very much appreciated.

Re: Internal errors and no access to memory

Any solution on this. Im now getting error 28 no space left on device when trying to open extras-dev in repositories. dmesg reveals no errors.

Seems to me your rootfs is full.
Goto the terminal and become root.

Then type "apt-get clean"

Temporary fix....until you remove some apps I guess

Just wondering.....when you do that is the N900 connected to the PC?
