tv out cable color coded: how to hook up to tv

The TV out cable has 3 ends, red yellow white, can somebody kind enough to point out, which one is R audio, L audio and video. And, does this specify any where? I have some difficulty to find it. Of course, I can take the chance....:(

TIA,

bun

Red is audio right, White is audio left, Yellow is composite video. These are industry standard colours, usually they will match the same coloured sockets on the TV.

You all are correct, I was too lazy to go to the tv, and try to get around with my desktop. Finally, I decided to go to the tv, voila, the jacks in front of the tv are colar coded, red, yellow and white.

TIA,

hahha NOOB session. Who would not know how to plug the AV cable into their TV? The colour code is on the plugs and the TV plugs. Just follow the colour code :-) sorry If I offended you,

I rather be offended then cannot do it; I was so frustrated when I post the 1st post, I really do not want to try my luck and running the risk of shoting the N900. I figured out it is proabably industry standard, but still puzzled that 1) cannot find it in my Nokia manual, 2) google cannot find it either. I am pretty sure it is somewhere in the net, but when you holding a cable and want to have fun....I am sure any one of us have been in that situation some time back, right? I have posted interesting WorldTV99 TV out pics here, thread #38, enjoy.

Well, to be honest, I doubt it would harm the N900 in this case, except maybe if you plugged them into the A/V out jacks on a DVD player or something. For future reference, if you need to figure out connection schemes/pinouts for just about anyng, The Hardware Book probably has you covered. It is likely more technical than you were looking for, though. As for why it wasn't in the manual, I guess including it would have been prudent, but they probably just assumed the user would know; I haven't seen any recent-model TV that wasn't color-coded. Don't feel bad about it, though - better to check than to risk damage. :P

There are hundreds of variations on this type of device. It would be normal to expect you to read the instructions of the device you wish to connect to as that will provide instructions of where it is on the device and how to switch focus to this input too.
