Application Manager Operation Failed

I searched and found similar threads but nothing relevant to the n900, or even that recent, for that matter.

I tried to install Fennec from Mozilla's website (where it says click here) and it added the catalog then said "Operation Failed" and that it could not find a file named Fennec.

Now everytime I open up my application manager it says (No Apps Found) and if I go to Uninstall it says (No Apps Installed) Even though I have all the catalogs enabled and do in fact have apps installed.

How can I hit the undo button here?

And what exactly did I do?

Re: Application Manager Operation Failed

Interestingly enough the problem doesn't appear to be related to the firefox installation? Though, I am certain it is what caused it.

Here's my Log if this helps anyone to help me.

E: Problem parsing dependency Depends
E: Error occured while processing freeciv-data (NewVersion1)
E: Problem with MergeList /var/lib/apt/lists/repository.maemo.org_extras-testing_dists_fremantle_non-free_binary-armel_Packages
E: The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.

EDIT: Ok so I just disabled the offending catalog.... And now I can see my apps but I guess I have a new question... How can I regain access to that catalog?

I just experienced the same issue. Removing "non-free" will keep the catalog enabled. I'm not sure yet though what apps are considered "non-free" in testing so don't know what all that makes inaccessible besides freeciv. I'm really looking forward to having that game on my n900 so am hoping this will be resolved soon.

EDIT: I'm also wondering why freeciv is considered "non-free", I thought it was pure gpl. Need to research that.

I removed non-free, thanks a lot. Wonder what the issue here is... Still don't know how to get the test-version of Fennec, too worried to try again now lol

it's not non-free, it's simply in wrong place

I'm figuring that is the case. I use to hang out on the freeciv forums and was sure that they were so strict that artwork had to be gpl compatible to be distributed with program.

This has hit me as well. Disabling Extras-testing fixes it, enabling it breaks it.

Yeah, disabling extras-testing did fix it.
