hi

does any1 knw how to install .tgz files on nokia 770 ? :confused:

put it in the directory you want it then use tar -zxvf <filename>

I think finding the package in the apps repository would be better though

erm so if i put all da files on memory card and open xterm

type -zxvf <filename> it shud wrk yea?

theory says yes, practice says I don't know. you'll have to do each file by hand. However like I said, I'd try to find the software for the 770 in the apps, if it is software.

It will at least (or should) melt the tarballs.

You for got to type tar in front of the syntax..

Here is the full comand you should use....

tar -zxvf filename.tar.tgz (or what ever extention your file has)

sorry. TAR is the name of the command the -zxvf is the options needed to do what you want to do.

so tar -zxvf <file>.tgz

I was a little distracted at work when I read your comment earlier.
