Contacts search on all fields
 

Search in contacts is limited to first name / last name and possibly nickname (when list configured by nickname).
A way to search the other fields.

I strongly favour solution #1 (KISS, ctrl-f for a full-text search)

If you don't have a maemo.org account (which is separate from a talk.maemo.org account) or are not logged in, you need to go to the http (instead of https) version:

Thanks for the pointer; the brainstorm you point me to is for a bigger feature that would indeed also (as a subfeature) solve the current brainstorm. But fulltext search only in the contacts is a faster-to-implement feature that would be valuable to have in itself even if we don't get our wish for a system-wide search.

That's always good to have just one general brainstorm where certain solutions can be added.
