repository.maemo.org, test.maemo.org
 

Where can we update our 770s with the content that used to be at repository.maemo.org, repository.maemo.org/extras? The directories don't seem to have any .deb packages in them. Where did they go?

I have tried to install from test.maemo.org also and have yet to find a working install link.

Are you using the application manager?

App manager, apt-get, no difference

I have now tried reflashing. Previously I used apt-get after enabling red-pill mode, same problem. Now, after reflashing, I haven't yet got dropbear downloaded so I can gain root access safely (that repository was unreachable as well). Still no luck.

Also, when accessing links in test.maemo.org with an .install extension, those links have trouble reaching repository.maemo.org as well. Most time out. I haven't been able to install a single app via test.maemo.org that comes from repository.maemo.org either.

My workaround has been to go to the /pool directories and download files, transfer them over to the 770 and install from there. As soon as I can get dropbear installed and have root again I'll try apt-get another time. I do note that the changes made when managing the application catalog seem to consist of commenting and uncommenting lines in sources.list, so I'm not positive the problem would be in application manager, especially given the slow or non-response of repository.maemo.org. Many other repositories work fine, including maemo-hacker.org.

I disabled all repositories except the catalogue repository that can't be edited and the two repository.maemo.org repositories in Application Manager.

sudo gainroot

apt-get update

and there it hangs. I got a few notifications of 60B/s (that's 60 bytes/second) and it quit.

Enabled red pill mode, no joy. I _am_ able to download packages from repository.maemo.org/pool and repository.maemo.org/extras/pool, so I know they are there. I am just unable to get the Application Manager or apt-get to download the headers, I guess. I am completely at a loss. Since I bought the 770 on 12/10/06 repository.maemo.org and repository.maemo.org/extras worked one single time, following flashing to 2.1.
