N900 system sounds too soft

Hey guys, I had my N900 for few days and I noticed my systems volume (ringtone, sms, sound when closing apps etc...) is very soft compared to other phones. I'm coming from N95, N97, and most recent iphone 3GS and they are all louder than the N900. I can barely here the tones eventhough set to the highest volume level. Am I missing something?

Ringtone and SMS are set to max, system is on level 2 yet I can barely hear them. Key sounds and touch screen on the other hand are very very loud when set to level 2 so I leave the key sound on level 1 and touch screen off.

Is this normal? By the way, media player for music and videos play loud but speaker phone is soft. So confused...

I noticed the same thing. I keep thinking it's on silent mode, but it's not... it's just very quiet.

If you haven't figured it out yet, you have to turn System Sounds to Level 2 under the General Profile. I just found this out. I could only hear a soft 'swish' when it was at Level 1.

I hate that there's only two Profiles.

Oh well nevermind, now it's back to the soft 'swish' sound even with the System Sounds at Level 2.

I had to re-flash my phone (very easy) to get my ringers back.

I generally like the volume and sound quality, its not so "peep" like. The iPhone has in my opinion for example a more worse speaker (and mono only).

When its sat doing nothing use the VOLUME keys to turn up the SOUND... or RTFM.
