N900 Media Player Should Handle Images
Having played around with the N900 Media Player (Canola, right?) as UPnP client for XBMC and EyeConnect I'm very impressed. Over the moon. Brilliant- but theres one thing... images shared over UPnP don't seem to be available in the media player!
I can see folder hierarchies in which images files are contained, and if any of the folders contain audio or video files I can access them without hassle- but not images! I know the convention is that Media Players tend not to adopt image viewer functionality... but from a UX perspective- some kind of seamless integration with the native image viewer would be excellent... unless of course I'm missing something- is the production media player supposed to provide image viewing capabilities? |

davidfoley,
thats an interesting observation, perhaps you could file a bug/enhancement request about it? |
Re: N900 Media Player Should Handle Images
No, the media player is not Canola, although AFAIK the UPnP subsystem used is the same as Canola used (cyberlink). It's not the most reliable one.
As for accessing images over UPnP I'm working on a N900 version of MediaBox that is able to do this. Hopefully it shouldn't be too far away anymore, |
