applet/widget to turn on/off 3g?
 

I am looking for a quick way to disable or enable 3g to save on battery life. because just for being logged into AIM and Skype, I shouldn't be on 3g.

is pressing your status bar at the top left, then clicking internet connection, and manually turning it off too much? :) - not sure there is anything quicker yet :(

I think what he's referring to is that the phone consumes internet/battery while searching for 3g connections

yup... and to turn it off is about 4 presses? - so what he's asking for is a quick desktop widget :) :)

It's not just 3G internet connection but staying in 3G coverage with 3G enabled in settings drains my battery in few hours. Now I have GSM only mode, I'll see what happen under 3G now (I'm 5 hundred meters from 3G coverage according map :( ).

So yes - applet that allows quick 3G/2G would be nice, going to check applet programming guide ;-)
