hey guys i was just wondering if it was possable to port over counterstrike . and if any one could do it? i love this phone so far just no game to play when i bored at work haha =)

yup.. lets just wait for those games.. i know o lot of ppl are working on those now.. =]

i want CS to be ported on n900 too... =]

The first step would be to see if there is an ARM version of counterstrike. Considering Nokia devices and other mobile devices uses ARM instead of x86 (the type of processor your more likely to find in a desktop/laptop).

Counterstrike on the n900 would be sweet, and I'm sure it's powerful enough to run it natively.

But there is essentially zero chance of it being ported without involvement from Valve

Such is the nature of closed source software.

would be cool with a cs port, but isen't there some copyright issues with valve? wich means its not so good for it to be available through maemo.org's repositories.

Copyright is not the only issue. There are technical issues due to it being closed source, not just the legal copyright issues.

No source code, so no recompilation for ARM is possible.

ID releases their older engines open source, this is what has allowed the community to get Quake3 running on the n900 http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=31658

Copyright prevents the quake3 datafiles from being distributed in the repos, but you can copy your own over after installing the engine.
